The Beach Street Cafe is home to a large variety of originals and reproductions of Maxfield Parrish's work, and one of the largest displays of Parrish works in the world.
Maxfield Parrish was a turn of the century artist, born in Philadelphia in 1870. He was one of the better known artists during the early years of the century. He illustrated for a variety of magazines including Colliers, Scribners, and Life. During the thirties Parrish was considered one of the three most popular artists to create expensive color reproductions; Van Gogh and Cezanne were the other two. Maxfield Parrish painted until the age of ninety one; he was ninety five when he died in 1966.
